The Writer’s Handbook, written by Core lecturing faculty and instructors, is a critical tool you will want to make use of all year long.  It is organized in sequence with the writing assignments and lecture material you will be experiencing in Core Course.  The Handbook offers extra instruction, explanations, tips and practical guidelines to help you improve your writing and critical reading skills.  It is designed to help you with your essay assignments and offers important information on the different types of essays and analysis you will be asked to complete in Core Course.  You should feel free to browse through all the contents, whether you are looking for help with a specific topic or skill (such as “how to read philosophy” or “the proper use of quotations”) or reviewing the basic features of college level writing.
